Under the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering & Terrorist Financing) Acts 2010 & 2016 as amended, all financial institutions, including Tipperary Credit Union are required by law to collect documentation to verify our membersā identity and their residential address.
Please note that where we have been unable to obtain the necessary documentation from a member, we will be required to cease providing services and ultimately could mean having to close accounts.
In order to avoid this, we would greatly appreciate memberās co-operation in providing the Identification documents which have been requested from you. One piece of identification fromĀ eachĀ section is required.
JUVENILE MEMBERS ā NEWBORN TO UNDER 16 YEARS
If an adult (parent/legal guardian) wishes to open an account for a juvenile,Ā the adultĀ themselves must provide the followingĀ at the time of opening the account for the juvenile:
1. Photographic Identification
2. Proof of Address

Please noteĀ we can no longer acceptĀ the Personal Services Card as proof of Identification orĀ PPS Number.
WE MUST ALSO RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING FOR THE CHILD:
1. Birth CertificateĀ (Mandatory)
2. Passport of the ChildĀ (If available)
3. Proof of PPS Number: Proof of the childās Personal Public Service Number on official documentation (Mandatory).

4. Proof of Address:Ā Ā Proof ofĀ address for the child must be that of the parent(s)/guardian(s) and dated within the last 6 months of membership application āĀ utility bill, government letter or bank statement.
5. If the juvenile is 7 and overĀ they must be present at the time of opening the account (Mandatory).
All monies deposited in theĀ minorās account are the minorās sole property. All withdrawals made from a minorās account must be for the minorās sole benefit and may only be carried out by the legal guardian of the juvenile (up to the age of 7).Ā From the age of 7 onwards the juvenile along with the parent/legal guardian should be present for all withdrawals.
Membership fee of ā¬1 applies. A minimum share balance of ā¬5 is required to open an account and to retain membership.
